In August of 2002, Dr. Jay Dennis, Senior Pastor of the Church at the Mall in Lakeland, Florida, believed God was leading the church into a worldwide church planting effort which would involve starting at least 30 new congregations within a 5 year period. When he shared this vision and sense of leading with the congregation, they enthusiastically joined him in obeying this calling of God.In April of 2003 the Global Reach Foundation, Inc. was formed to carry out this enormous task. The Foundation received its 501(c)3 tax exempt status in September of 2003, so that all contributions could be tax deductible. The Foundation is governed by a board of Directors who meet regularly to oversee ministry efforts and ensure financial accountability. To date, 12 evangelical churches, four evangelical denomination entities, and over 400 individuals have partnered together to see this vision of worldwide church planting become a reality. |
