Plant 30: Radio Church, McMurdo, Antarctica
Located on the Ross Sea coast of the frozen continent of Antarctica, McMurdo is a U.S. community of Research Station scientists, about 2,000 in season and about 500 off season. There is a New Zealand community 2 miles away of similar size. These few thousand people have one “ecumenical” chaplain to share so there is essentially no gospel witness. We hope to launch a 24 hour a day radio station there that will reach both communities with the gospel, great teaching, great music, and bring a sense of connection in the midst of their isolation. Pray that we’ll know how to pray and proceed!
